Information

Using engineering documents in static PDF format is one of the most time-consuming, error-prone, and manual tasks that engineers undertake today, often resulting in long delays, rework, and unacceptable risk. These legacy artifacts of 1990s engineering are simply not compatible with today's digital thread workflow.

SWISS uses AI/ML and semantic analysis to transform legacy engineering documents into interoperable digital model data by extracting and inferring key elements such as requirements, definitions, references, context, parts, materials, processes, long lead time indicators, hazardous materials, and more. That data is stored in a knowledge graph and becomes easily accessible to digital thread applications such as PLM, MES, and more through a robust API. This session will illustrate concrete examples of reducing time, cost, risk, (and frustration!) by transforming static engineering documents to interoperable model-based data.
